  9. This archive contains the user's manual for a 2AM-BBS.    This
  10. program was written and copyrighted by Chris Gorman and Neil
  11. Clarke (hereafter referred to as "us"), and is currently
  12. running in a couple of locations and hopefully will be
  13. running in even more locations soon.  Since we really wanted
  14. to do a thorough job of documenting the program and
  15. introducing everyone to it, we have written this user's
  16. manual and distributed it.

  19. 2AM-BBS is written completely in TURBO Pascal  and is fast,
  20. efficient, and includes all the features found in your
  21. favorite BBS programs (and a few more!).  The manual goes
  22. into every user option in 2AM-BBS, and we hope that you can
  23. use it to become acquainted with the program and get around
  24. the software with a minimum of hassle.

  26. RESTRICTIONS ON USE

  29. This manual is the property of Chris Gorman and Neil Clarke
  30. and only the two of us can sell it for a profit.  However,
  31. you may distribute this user's manual free of charge to
  32. anyone who would like a copy of it.

  34. Please do not modify it with intents of misrepresenting the
  35. layout or capabilities of the program;    that is rotten on
  36. your part.  If you would like to add comments or point out
  37. inaccuracies, please contact us and we will be very happy to
  38. include your comments in the next release of the manual.  If
  39. you want to have some fun, you may put your name and
  40. city/state on the second page of the manual (which we have
  41. left blank for that purpose).  This is just so that people
  42. can see how the manual got tracked across the country
  43. (ocean??), and we really hope that no one would be abusive
  44. or destructive with that privilege.

  46. 2AM-BBS's

  49. A complete list of 2AM-BBS's is kept at the Drew University
  50. Underground (201-377-8245) in the BBS database.  Right now
  51. we don't have a published list, but in the next release of
  52. this manual, a list will be included in the archive.

  72. 2AM-BBS runs on any IBM PC-XT/AT or compatible.  A specially
  73. modified version is also available for the Epson QX-16
  74. running DOS.  We have also made additional modifications to
  75.                      2
  76. allow the program to run on a Bi-Tech  Star Network.  On a
  77. network, you can have 2-8 QX-16's AND/OR IBM PC-XT/AT or
  78. compatibles multiplexed together running the same software.
  79. In addition, a version that allows you to run the program
  80. off of 2 or more serial ports on an IBM-PC/AT or compatible
  81. should be ready by January of 1987.  The program currently
  82. retails for $75 which includes the software, a sysop's
  83. manual, a copy of this user's manual, the home phone numbers
  84. of the authors who will be glad to answer questions that
  85. come up and lifetime free updates (we have gotten addicted
  86. to updates).  If you are interested in purchasing the board,
